Greenland Gown Project

Update on the planning progress.

Passports are an important part of the planning!

  1. Fill out the passport applications.
  2. Get passport photos.
  3. Send the passport applications to the State Department.
  4. Planning the trip… a. Looking for plane tickets. b. Contacting the curator and conservators at the National Museum of Denmark.

As you can see, We are creeping towards the goal of planning a boots on the ground research in Scandinavia.

If there is anything that you all would like me to find out specifically, please leave a comment in the reply section for this post.

I am excited to let you know that the Greenland Gown Project is going to be doing onsite research this year in several locations in Scandinavia

The countries that are being looked at are Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and perhaps Denmark.

Greenland may have to wait for another trip as I am still looking at the budget.

That being said, if anyone knows of any person in Iceland that may be willing to host myself and my husband in the Reykjavík area from around the 3rd/4th of June until the 9th/10th of June, please get in touch with me at .

The travel dates are looking like the 1st of May until the 10th of June. Our dates are not set in stone as of yet. I am going to be ordering tickets and will have the dates nailed down by next week.

We will of course be recording our journey in a travel section of the blog so that you may all come along with us!

Be well,
